Remind me to not buy a Porsche anytime soon
All I gotta say is dayum. I went through something like this with my E60 M5 and in the end BMW did the right thing with me and is the reason why I'm in my F10 M5 today.
This video was uploaded today, btw.

how dare you question the awesomeness of Porsche here!?! Don't you know this forum is for former BMW owners to talk about how much better their new porsches are?
Seriously though... feel bad for this guy... definitely a one-off lemon and Porsche NA should do right by him and give him a new model or his money back... they are the problem. The 911 in my garage has been flawless for 11 years now.

So, are we able to code the window smoke feature in the M5? I can understand if we don't have the floor rinsing option, but I must have the smoke feature.

Guys, this is nothing. you should read the entire saga. He has been at this for months. This is merely the tail end. Porsche has done him so wrong.
In my experience Porsche has been by far the worst automobile company to purchase a vehicle from and I know a local guy here in Atl who is having a nightmare experience with a major issue with his new 991TT. Porsche does not get it when it comes to customer care-regardless of what you hear about how great they are. And yeah, HOW DARE YOU QUESTION PORSCHE HERE you loud a**, straight-piped, blacked out, tire spinning freaking M5 PUNK!-hahahahahahahaha!

@coldlist It must be service team dependent??? My dealership here in Houston is really good. I had MAJOR issues on the Cayenne and they had not issues taking care of everything. The only PITA for me was having to take the car to the dealer again and again for issues.
I know this does not apply to the smoking engine... because that would be Porsche USA/ Germany and not dealer.

It's an ordeal. He was their biggest champion on the renlist board. Loved his car, posted all these informative videos, big contributor to their forum. Almost like their Dave...
Then it just started to unravel, and Porsche treats him like sh*t. It's literally unbelievable. I love my 911, but you won't hear me raving about the dealer/service experience. I'd be happy if I never see or talk to them again. Sketchy. BMW is in a different league with customer experience. No question. Another reason to switch over to the 458 Cold.

Hey I'm not so blacked out anymore.
Actually I've been seriously eyeing that 2014 981 Cayman S. I want a dedicated and streetable track car in the future and I hear the Cayman S is bliss. I really hope they decide to bring the Cayman GTS to the U.S. And if I got the Cayman S, you better believe I would straightpipe it too! Lol!

[/QUOTE Ha you guys are funny .......this is what happens when you get attached to a brand/blinded by the marketing. ALL cars companies want your money, and for you to roll it over and over for updated head lights, new NAV, new bumper, you get the picture. Read up on Porsche they have won the JD Power award nine years in a row for their brand which means they're printing money. Hell cold you purchased 3 of them in less than a year clearly young Skywalker you can't resist. BMW is good brand, but their service department sucks because they treat a M5 or M6 like a 1 series because it's just a car to them. The Porsche folks take care of me when I hit the door so different stroke for different folks.(but I know they want my money) In the end guys it's only a car so enjoy it. The dealer is a middle man that has to make money sell you lojack, window tint, special wheels, wheel insurance, 7 year payment plan, extra warrantee. I think y'all get my drift. |

I didn't even waste my time reading this thread after I saw what it was about... you think P car owners have issues LOL--- Id guess there is a story like this going on everywhere. 5 Pcars later and Ive been grateful; not so much with my E46 M3 and the engine blowing AFTER the recall where they changed the rods.

I wonder if PertPlus got the same 1yr / 7000mi lease on his new p-car as he did with his bimmers. LOL
After watching this vid; and all the stories you hear about cars catching on fire; and actors dying -- I'm not sure i would want a Porsche anytime soon either. |

Agree. Porsche should do the right thing by replacing his car or a full refund. Does not the lemon law there helping him at all?

wow, thats a lot of issues. He should just get a lawyer. He seems as though he has everything documented. I can't believe a large company like Porsche isn't just taking care of the situation? hmm
Hope everything works out for him, he is a lot more patient than I would be given all the parts of the situation

981 GTS is configurable on the USA website - my dealer asked me if I wanted to order blind (UK demos not available until June/July), but I politely declined
Definitely worth at least one test drive if your coming from an F10 M5 as you need to adopt a completely different driving style in daily use. Only issue I have with 981 GTS is that it will not be a fixed production run like 991 GT3, so although some of the 981 S options are standard, I'll predict it will still depreciate considerably (at least in UK). Next gen Cayman likely to go to 4-cyl turbos, so may be a good time to join the dark side... lemons & potential for poor service no different to any other manufacturer/dealership IMHO. As to marketing hype - I'm already configuring Carmine Red with 'Carmine Red' alcantara. Doh! |
