Can't enable/disable MDM mode

So I noticed I can't enable/disable MDM mode using the ESC button on the center console. I have it programmed into my M mode settings so I can turn it on that way. Any ideas why this could be happening? I am still able to use the ESC button to turn traction off fully by holding it down.

Well, let's start with there is no such thing ESC. There is EDC, which is Electronic Damper Control. And there is DSC, which is Digital Stability Control, which is, I assume, what you meant. The console button is actually labeled "DSC Off", which is what it does. Using that button, you can turn DSC off, (and back on) and nothing else. MDM is only accessable through the "M" button, and then only if you have it programmed to do so when you push the "M" button.
So, the short answer is, there is nothing wrong with your car, that is how it works.
