Nav DVD Tip
Just a word of advice. If you are doing any hard driving i.e. track or autocross, remove any CDs and Nav DVD from your car. I ran in an autocross and immediately afterwards I started having DVD read errors. The disc had small circular scratches as if it had rubbed on something.
FYI you can also rip the nav DVD onto your computer and burn copies on DVD-Rs that work great, which is what I did since luckily my computer was still able to read the disc. The car DVD drive is apparently very picky. |

I had a similar issue with the nav DVD in my e46 M3, I would try to get the dealer to cover it under warranty.

I havent had any problems with the Nav DVD and track/autocross. But my DVD drive did go bad (fail to read disc) and I had it replaced under warranty. It was an unrelated incident.

I've heard the DVD drives can go bad (as in the case above), but in my case it seemed to be related to this disc itself, as burning a new copy solved my problem.
I would suggest trying that. If yours is messed up bad, borrow one or download the image and burn it. |
