One of the few CF parts that will ACTUALLY have some tangible performance benefit.

I'm getting Hyper Coil springs this or next week too. Not fancy carbon, but plenty of people can get them.

Hi guys here's some information on the carbon-composite springs.

The beauty of this system, aside from the obvious weight savings and virtual elimination of side loads, is that it is designed to be tune-able and modular. You would simply purchase a set of 'spring elements', and put the appropriate number of elements in series to achieve your desired rates and deflection.

For a race team which needs to constantly change the spring rates on a car, this system makes sense because you do not need to purchase ($$$) and carry a ton of springs. But if you are only looking for a single spring rate, this system may not make sense because an 800# spring would require 20X 16000# elements @ $75 each = $1500

When we last talked to them at PRI they still had these on test vehicles.

You have to think about other variables too such as debris getting stuck in a tight area on the spring. Would seem that when you pick up the little tire chunks on track that it would be a good place for them to get stuck. Also about bump stops with this set up, what happens when you bottom out the spring? We would love to try these out though.

If your racing with them it would be a good idea to check legality

debris off the road can be a problem! it does look tight.

but I'm will to give it a try .

it doesn't snow in Taiwan so i'll take the risk

30% lets weight on each corner is very tempting

^The way you would think about this system is that for a set of 20 elements (~$1500), you get a range stiffnesses by combining them differently, which is equivalent to having that many traditional coil springs. So if you divide $1500 by the 10 stiffness combinations, each spring equivalent would be $150, which is not too bad considering the weight savings, side load reduction, and life extension vs. titanium springs.

so does that mean I pay 6k for 10 different settings on each corner?

can i just buy a setting per / wheels instead of the 10?
