Feel the clutch slipping occasionally with DCT when accelerating. Normal?
Occasionally I can feel the clutch slipping slightly right as I accelerate from a stop. It happens a lot more often if the car is in M mode with the sharpened throttle etc..
Do any other DTC users experience this? (I may not be explaining it correctly, but basically the car slightly 'shakes' or jitters as I accelerate away from a stop) Thanks! |

The DCT seems to engage the clutch slowly when accelerating slowly so it is smooth... are you confusing this feeling for the clutch slipping?

I think you are thinking of the word "chatter"
My DCT chatters occasionally as well, but only when I'm in traffic and have been accelerating slowly from a stop over and over again. Seems to be normal for our trans

FWIW the manual tranny/clutch does the same thing.

There does seem to be a particular transmission oil temp at which i can feel a slight judder when pulling away from stationary in first...When the trans is cold and hot its fine but somewhere inbetween I get this slight judder, it happens rarely and it doesn't worry me.

Dont hold me to it because i own a 6MT but i thought in D the car would do all it can to save fuel IE: start in second. If you press the gas a certain amount it will hesitate for a second and then go back to first because it is trying to get to the speed according to how much you stepped on the gas but it cant do that in second so it then downshifts to first and thats where it comes from... I have seen this on my 550 but it doesnt have the DCT tranny so i could be wrong
