I'll get my M3 E92 next month. For now I have chosen Alpine White, but I'm not sure yet. Mainly I vacillate between Space Gray and Alpine White. Almost every day like it again the other color, I'll probably go crazy. Alpine White is more sporty and fits really well with this car. But not sure if I'll still love it in 2 or 3 years (never had a white car so far). Space Gray is more classy and I think I won't become bored of it after a few years. But on the other side, it doesn't look that sporty on the pics (I've only see a M3 E93 with the 220M rims in Space Gray in person), but it may look different in person.
As for the rims, I prefer the 220M on Alpine White, while I think the 359M fit better with Space Gray (but still didn't see an M3 with ZCP in person so far). I have 2 days left and then I have to tell my dealer my final decision... Last edited by Art__Vandelay; 06-19-2011 at 04:55 PM.. |

Both choices are good.
I drive a SG E93. I added 359s and had them powered coated a textured matte black. Coupled with a matte grille, side vents and hood vents, the car looks mean. I'm not near my computer, but you can pm me your email address and I will forward you pictures from my iPhone. The same can be done with the AW. Go with what you like. That is ultimately the best choice.

You can't go wrong with any color combo or wheels. It's a M3!

Currently drive SG w/ZCP. The SG is richer looking and really shines up nice after a good wash & wax. The 359 rims came with the ZCP package and I really think they look sharp, plus they are a little wider and provide somewhat of a handleing upgrade.
Previously owned an E36 AW. The white is definitly sportier but it doesn't sparkle when washed & waxed. Oh, and you'll be washing it a lot. Dirt shows on AW while it sort of blends with the SG. Although either choice would be a winner, IMHO, go with SG and the ZCP package. |

So here are my 2c: I'm not a fan of SG myself. We have an E90 335i in the *other* SG (Sparkling Graphite), and four years in, admittedly I'm bored of it. But then, thats just a personal issue.
Thus, I'm a big advocate of the AW. On my original M3 order, I elected for the 220 wheels, since, much like you, I think they suit the car the best. After the dealer messed up my order (a long story), I was able to negotiate a good price on a new order with ZCP. I think I can settle for the 359 wheels, which are a little more exclusive than the 220s, and hence, more desireable to most. Stick with the AW it's a classic colour that will age gracefully. Asif |

Space grey. The more you wax and take of the paint, the more it sparkles. The M does look good in white, but I think it is just more elegant looking. SG is sleek, shows of all of the lines on the car, and never really shows a lot of dirt. (Not that it is really a factor, but it looks clean until you have time to wash it) Both colors look great with the ZCP Wheels but everything pops more with SG. I've used Mothers Spray wax on those wheels a couple times (you can use that wax for really anything on the car) and those wheels SHINE. The car is just gorgeous and I catch myself just staring at it after parking and walking away. You will NOT regret SG because it will just keep looking better and better the more you take care of it.
Just my opinion but your decision. Go with grey.

Thanks for the input, guys. Everytime when I see some pics in AW, I'm getting sure that this is the color to go. But then I see a pic in SG and I'm back on the SG-bandwagon... It's the hell.
I've seen the 359M rims on the 1M, but still not on the M3 (in person). They look kind of small on some pics... hope they're okay in person. Because, Space Gray is less sporty than AW, so if the rims also look smaller, don't know if I'd like it. But im quite sure the pics don't do it justice... am I right? |

OP, I have had both. First the grey, then I saw the ZCP in white at the dealer and I traded it in. Here's how I feel about it. The grey is classy and more sophisticated. It blends well and doesn't attract undue attention. Especially with the 220Ms. The grey is a beautiful color and I loved it. It looks cleaner longer and it really pops in the sun. The white is a bit more flashy and it stands out more. Personally, I fell in love with the white after seeing a perfectly detailed one at the dealer. It feels more sporty to me, if that makes any sense. I don't know that I really care about the boy-racer look but the white just makes me happy. Ultimately you can't go wrong. Now make a decision. Truth be told, I went through hell trying to decide on my S5. Black or grey. Bought black. Should have got grey. That definitely influenced my M3 decision. Now I'm at the opposite end of the monochromatic scale.

I know what you mean on the wheels. The pictures definitely do not do their justice. I always thought the wheels looked way to small in the front, and sometimes they do. But nothing a little tire shine can't fix.
Does your dealer have any with ZCP wheels in stock that you can go look at?
