How far have you driven your M3 over a weekend?

Just picked up my 2008 E92 M3 after I got tired of waiting for the delivery of my F25 X3. It is an AWESOME car, we picked it up from Melbourne Australia and drove it all the way back to Perth in Western Australia over the Easter Weekend. 3419KM's / 2124 Miles in 48 hours, this was the most awesome drive ever.
Anyone else taken their M3 for a long road trip?

Attached a nice picture of our car half way across Australia in the middle of no where :P

awesome picture! hell of a move pulling the plug on an X3 and getting an M3. way to be.

I haven't yet ventured more than 300 miles from Chicago. I'm gonna try to make it to Mid Ohio this summer, so that might become the new high water mark.

A couple weekends ago I took the car from Bamberg, Germany to Hammann HQ in Laupheim, Germany then down to Lake Bodensee (Konstance), stayed in Freiderichshafen for the night, then to Meersburg, Germany where we jumped on the car ferry to cross Lake Bodensee to the city of Constance and skirted the southern part of the Lake into Switzerland and Austria, and then back up home to Bamberg. It was about an 875 KM trip, but great scenery and three countries in 2 days and driving in Swiss, Austrian, and German Alps...can't beat it!

A couple of years ago during the summer, decided to drive thru the Death Valley on the way back to LA from Vegas. It was so fawking hot, and some roads looked so desolate, I topped off on gas at EVERY gas station I saw, LOL.

Actually I have this past weekend I drove over 3,000 KM from Eastern to Western Canada on business. Discovered many things about my new toy. How the doors including the back area (where doors would be) nicely eliminated with a soft orange glowing light very cool indeed. How the sports seats hug you gentle and one maintains a firm and comfortable seat. Hoe non tiring it is to drive the car. When one has his hands firmly on the wheel how nice the steering wheel feels and how unobstructed all the gauges are visible. I was thinking to myself how well designed this car really is.

How well she responds and how quickly one can sling shoot by a 18 wheeler. Yes a wonderful car indeed and what a machine. Yes BMW still knows how to build a nice M car that so many of us love.

Happy driving always

Cheers,

Rolf-Dieter

Oh and another thing, I've been keeping a keen eye on the gas consumption. After some 2,000 KM she stabilized around 10.5 L/100 KM ... I am curious what your fuel consumption might have been. I certainly did not expect that from this car having 420 PS under the hood. I never paid attention to fuel consumption on my former e46 M3 it was a 2002 with 333 PS.

Greetings from the other side of the world to you folks down under

I am thinking about driving to Vancouver from Calgary and coming back (around 2200 KM), but some part of me feels so bad to put that much milage on my car only in few days. Plus, I am really scared of rock chips.

Did that last summer with my daughter Vegas via the Mohave Desert to Bishop CA then to the coast and on down to LA. We stopped to sample the air in the Mohave Desert at about 6 feet above sea level it was 120 F (49 C) a dry heat. was a lovely drive down the coast to LA.

after a 20 minute drive north west out from the Desert into the mountains the temperature changed by 68 F (some 20 C) there was even some snow up in them there hills
