YAAWM3

Yet Another Alpine White M3
  • Akrapovic Evolution Full Exhaust
  • Dinan Stage I Suspension
  • BBS LM-Rs - 20x9 et8, 20x10 et18, 245/30, 285/30
  • BMW OEM front splitters
  • Vorsteiner VRS Boot Lid (single sided)
  • Vorsteiner VRS Aero Rear Diffuser II
  • AngeliBright
  • Glossy OEM grills

Thoughts on the mods:
  • Akrapovic, rumbles any garage I'm in but once the car warms up it sounds awesome at WOT. Expensive, but well worth it. Only issue is the check engine light is forever on. ECU tweak is available, I haven't decided whether or not to drop the extra $1k. Didn't dyno the car before and after exhaust so I'm unsure about the power gains. So many others have and if they're to be believed....
  • Dinan suspension, feels stock and only a 1/2" drop. I tried to balance stock ride and looks but in the end, I don't want to creep over speed bumps and out driveways. Feels awesome at the track too (never hit the track w/ OEM setup so take it with a grain of salt). Car could use another 1/2" drop from a looks standpoint but "I'm too old for this shit" /Murtaugh
  • Vorsteiner parts - fitment is okay, definitely not OEM level. Boot lid had 3 minor issues:
    • space for the rondel doesn't have holes so I left the one on the stock bumper, bought another, dremeled pegs off and taped it on.
    • Wiring for lights, etc is a PITA to pass through, left it outside of the padding and used electrical tape to water proof what I could.
    • Alignment was a pain to get just right. ProTip: Couldn't get the trunk to latch close until I figured out you could adjust the trunk latch plate

Big thanks to:
  • Aleks at alekshop.com who did exhaust, suspension, and diffuser install. This man is more paranoid and meticulous and during the install than I was! Can't thank him enough, go to his shop if you're in the bay area.
  • Andrew@IND for coming through with the Vorsteiner parts, paint matches perfectly
  • Joe @ http://www.trinityautosport.com/ for coming through with some BBS parts. The company that I ordered the wheels from never sent hub rings and I no longer wanted to deal with them. Joe pulled through.

Dammit, now I am seriously thinking about getting the Challenge trunk with a fade paint job.

Probably just brakes, anything more would involve way too much $$$ at this point

Car looks sick - love the white of course

Are those 19's cuz they look a bit small? It seems with stepped wheels it always looks one inch smaller than they really are. I had a set of 17" LM's that looked so dinky on my nsx front so we upgraded to 18/19 stagger.

I wish BBS made those wheels in a 5x114.3 pattern.
