Nurburgring 24

I'm planning on going up to see the start of the Nurburgring 24 this Thursday. Has anybody been there when they drive through town, and if so, how difficult was it to find a place to park? I'm assuming the initial drive/meet and greet will take place in Adenau.

I was there last year for the start of the race on Saturday but never on the initial start day.

Any tips on parking/tickets for this Thursday.

I went to the website but it is pretty useless.

i tried to reserve a room about a month ago. fully booked for miles anywhere near the place. please post on how you faired with parking.

I tried to get a room as well but no luck.

I will still go up this Thursday to look around and then back on Saturday for the race.

I was there for the German F1 last year, and I can tell you the place is a mad house. You might find parking on the lawns in town but you will have to hoof it to see any of the track. Also, the little viewing areas around the track will be packed as well. I'm sure I didn't find all of them, but the locals will surely know. PLease post pics!

I'm going up on Friday. I will be going with a friend and we are camping out in the woods with beer and well... not much else. I'm thinking of either heading up to the Aremberg bridge or around Adenauer Forst. There are so many good places to hang around if you have a good set of hiking shoes. It's really not that bad really.

You can buy a weekend ticket for 52 Euro and it will allow access to all areas including the pitlane. Go to the historic pits next to the Dorint Hotel for your ticket.

I know it will be crazy but I guess that's part of the fun.

I have been waiting all year for this. This is going to be an awesome weekend. I just hope it won't rain.
