Fall-Line Motorsports Makes History with E92 M3 V8
I just got an article from Fall Line about their latest stint at Homestead Raceway in Miami, and thought you guys might enjoy the read. I thought it was pretty cool!
Here's the article: March 15, 2009--Homestead, FL Fall-Line Motorsports becomes first team to take BMW E92 M3 V8 to a top ten finish in North American Pro Racing. The 2nd round of the 2009 Grand-Am Koni Sportscar Challenge series was held at the Homestead Miami Speedway today, and the Fall-Line Motorsports, HRE Performance Wheels, B.R.M Chronograph, Original BMW Parts, DINAN, Sparco # 28 machine was out to make a statement, and they did with a 6th place finish in the Grand-Am Fan Appreciation 200. After being toward the bottom of the time charts during the test day Thursday, the Fall-Line team stepped it up, and went 8th and 10th in practice, and qualified in a strong 13th position on the 28 car grid. "With the weather in Chicago being what it is, we've had to use the races as our test time with this new car, and its hard to sort out chassis problems during a race weekend" said co-driver and co team owner Mark Boden. "That said, its impressive to me that our guys have built a car that has now run 2 complete races, and only missed 3 laps, and those were not due to any mechanical issue". The Fall-Line Motorsports car took the green with Boden in the seat, and ran a strong first stint. "The starts of these races are ultra competitive" continued Boden. "The rule set that Grand-Am has for this class keeps all the cars so equal that at the starts you have to push really hard because there is constant pressure all around you. Its tough to not overdrive the car" Boden pitted the car during the first and only caution period at the 46 minute mark, and put co-driver and co-team owner Steve Jenkins in the car. "Mark did everything right today" said Jenkins. "He gave me a perfect car, and the teams pit stop was awesome! I couldn't believe it when they said we came out of the stop in 8th position" Jenkins ran the car as high as 2nd place for several laps, before needing to pit for fuel and rear tires with about 40 minutes to go in the 2-1/2 hour race. "We had talked about doing rears at the second stop before the race, but man was I surprised at how bad they got" continued Jenkins. "This car is so hard to drive, its loose into the corner, its loose out of the corner, and the rear tires just get way overheated if you drive it even the slightest bit too hard. The car weighs so much that you just cant keep the tires under you when your racing hard. After getting the fuel and rear tires, I had to be so smooth so as not to ruin the tires, it was really difficult and took a lot of concentration." After the second stop the #28 was firmly in 6th spot with 5th in their sights and closing. "The 32 car was ahead of me with Todd Lamb driving" laughs Jenkins. " Todd and I have a little history of prodding each other about some NHL team rivals, so I really wanted to catch him. He did a masterful job of slowing me in the hairpin onto the banking, and then forced me into the low groove in the banking. I almost got him, but had a blast trying!" The #28 car is headed back to Chicago where the warmer temps of spring await, and the team plans to test and improve the chassis before the 3rd round at NJ Motorsports Park in May.

I'm not trying to attack the wheels. I've seen them in person and like them a lot
What I mean as expensive is in terms or street use. I would use these as a strict track wheel if I had a set making them serve the purpose they were created for. As a track only setup they are expensive. For a street ride, they are slotted in with everything else. Don't take the comment so seriously, if I really wanted to go for super expensive track wheels category of this calibur I would look into pricing on Magnesium sets or custom sets like Fikse etc. I don't believe I'd be turning any serious buyers away from these wheels by saying that. If anything the human psyche would make anybody look them up and figure out pricing for themselves and in turn make them more likely to purchase a set |

I will say that when I read your post, I thought "Man this guy sounds like an expert on these wheels, but obviously doesnt have all the facts". Dont take my comments overly seriously either, I just hate it when assumptions are made without all of the facts. Peace! |

Volk TE37's clear 380mm BBK and are forged. CCW's are suppose to clear as well. Both should cost less and some would say the Volks are stronger than an HRE wheel.

Again, Im not looking to get into a pissing contest, but was not aware that the TE37 was readily available in an 18" size that doesnt need a spacer. If I am wrong, it wont be the first time, im far from perfect. I also wont get into bashing anyones wheels, I will however stand by the strength of those HRE Race wheels!
