What Mods to your 135?
Hi All
New here as is my white 135 with Coral Leather. Car is fully optioned but no sunroof or folding mirrors. How many OZ owners have modified their cars yet? And what have you done? Had the car 2 weeks now and have just had it tuned with the Active Autowerke processor. Pleased with the conservative results so far, but this ecu can be upgraded and reprogrammed to suit the development path. Very disappointed with the run flat tyres and the cars handling and general stability in every day driving. I am going to change these for a set of Continental sport contact 2's in OEM sizes in the new few days and see how much of a difference this makes. Any others done this and what is your impression of the changes? Cheers MIke |

You have come to the right place. There are a few of us who have done a few mods, both mechanical and cosmetic - Prof, 2quick4u, spdccr (something like that - his name is Jeff), and myself. There are much more to come from Prof and I still have a few things on the cards.

forgot to mention that andrew@southernbm is the master of 135i mods in Australia. But he is Melbourne based. Do a search on any of our names and you'll see a few threads related to our journeys.

Welcome 135i2 hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Your impressions are spot on, I recommend you have a chat to Andrew Brien at Southern BM Melbourne. Andrew has a fix for most issues and has helped numerous others as mentioned by WAY above. We are from Adelaide, he has two of our cars and we expect development to be finished early next week. If you would like to follow progress have a look at http://www.southernbm.com.au/ go to Gallery then SBM 16 and SBM 17. He updates the sight every night with photo's and progress report. The extra cost involved with travel from interstate is a small price to pay for his expertise. Well worth a professional job rather than the SA unknown. Peace of mind is priceless. Mike... |

Thanks for the feedback & welcome.
Work on the car so far has been done by Peak Performance and am happy with their approach and input. I have been in touch with Andrew and he certainly seems up to speed. Nice to see there are others on the bleeding edge. I have modified many cars and have been the pioneer too many times so any info from sharing in this forum will help me choose the right path for the cars development with products that work. Cheers Mike |

Had a look at the peak performance website. Prices for their 135i parts seem fairly high.

Anyone know much about D2? THose 8 pot calipers look lovely. I remember the logo. They used to sponspor the factory CLK DTM cars. Wonder how they compare to the Brembo bbk. It's pretty cheap!

Actually the D2 I was refering to is a mobile company that is now part of Vodafone, so no way would they be the same company lol. Same logo though, which means this (apparently) cheap Chinese company have ripped off the logo of the original D2. Hmm, make you wonder about their products!

kris, the price for supersprint in the commercial section seems to be even more!
if something for the 1er is cheaper in australia than it is in the US, i am willing to be the next streaker at the boxing day test match! |

hahahah! I'll look for you in the papers. Seriously, how can a company charge $4000 for 2 pipes and 2 cats? 200 cell cats are MAX $500 each. Theres about $100 in metal. This is a mass produced exhaust. I wonder how many they sell?
Buy 20 Exhausts or 1 entire Car |
