The LCI has a wireless charger in the armrest, but it's power is so low that it is not actually charging the phone when the phone is connected to carplay, technically it is "being charged" but the energy loss from carplay is greater than the charging power of the wireless charger in the armrest. So the phone loses battery even when "being charged" while in use for carplay.

Is it the same case with this charger? And if we install this to the LCI one will we get more juice out of it than the one we get from the armrest?

EXACTLY! How that was never checked properly I don't know. It simply doesn't charge quick enough if you are actually using the phone for anything. Which makes it redundant.

This absolutely does. It charges while streaming CarPlay happily. We still can't believe such a big flaw was missed by BMW.
