F80 stripped CP thread on turbo

Hi all, I have searched the forums and have come across several instances of stripped CP attachment in turbo. New owner just discovered I too have this issue. Must have been overtorqued at some point but here we are. New factory bolts unable to catch any meaningful thread on turbo housing. Here are my thoughts..

Helicoil / timesert- a possibility but am worried about compromising integrity of aluminum tab and future failure (seen a member experience that)

Longer bolt- got myself appropriate bolt with intentions to secure nut below but the lower attachment point cannot accommodate nut. I’m considering grinding nut down but still not sure if clearance permits

Im currently using a zip tie and staying out of boost (mostly). If anyone has any other suggestions or comments on the above that would be appreciated. Have Mishimoto pipes on delivery and need a reliable solution.

Thanks!

Id probably go the Timesert route, or maybe helicoil.

A quality Heli-Coil fix will make it better than ever.

Excellent, thank you guys. I imagine if drilled correctly it would not weaken housing.
