New Member - soon to be M4 owner

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself as I’m new to the forum. I’ve been driving BMWs since 2001 but just haven’t really spent much time on chat rooms.

I started with my 2000 328i Coupe. Then moved to my current E92 328i. I also had a 1999 M3 convertible for a few months because I got a great deal on it but I sold it for a profit because the automatic transmission wasn’t my favorite.

I’m in the process of searching for a pre-LCI M4 (I hear the 2015 is wild and I like round headlights). Ideally, I should be in my new ride before the new year as I’ve noticed prices have really come down. Moreover, M4s seem to be less expensive that F80 M3s overall. Things seem to be lining up really well for me because I’ve waited so long for prices to drop that I can buy it for cash to skip the high financing interest rates.

Can’t wait to post photos of my new-to-me car soon!

Welcome to the forum!

E46, eh? How many times did you change out the coolant reservoir while you owned it? Lol.

I can attest that the 2015 does have one helluva torque curve. It's amazing. Good on you for going for the round headlights too… the icon lights are really sought after TBH so I think this will be great for you.

Looking forward to what's next.

I didn't know that about the LCI, actually I don't know much about the F80/2 platform other than I'm in the market.

But I'm trying to be patient and wait for prices (which are currently nutty) to return to semi-normal.

Things will come back down for sure. They already are. I remember when I got my stripper 2015 6MT in late 2017 for $37k. It's just a matter of time. The dealers paid way too much for the used F8X cars during the pandemic so now they're just languishing on the lots.

For example, I remember the prices of the E9X were spiking out of control last year this time… but once the gas prices closed in on $8/gallon the prices plummeted.
