yellowing on outside DRLs

The DRLs are both yellow on the outside for both driver and passenger side.

I took the car to the dealership to have both the LED modules replaced under warranty and it did not fix the issue.

They're in contact with BMW and they said the next step is to inspect the vehicle for any aftermarket mods which there are none.

What could cause the outside DRLs to yellow like that if it's not the modules?

Is there a film on the headlight itself? Pretty common for folks to put ppf or some sort of tinted film for certain look.

No film. none that would cause only the outside lights to look yellow

In that case, then the module is going bad. Insufficient or drawing too much current/power.

You can see the modules if you open your hood. The modules are right on the back of the headlights themselves. Looks like aluminum fins/ heat sink. Are they hot?

Dealer replaced the modules and they said it's the same thing. Which is why I'm posting this because it's strange.

This is my 2nd 2020. My first was brand new off the boat in alpine white and the LEDs were perfect.

This one is a used 20k mile mineral white. The dealership first tried to tell me it was normal to be yellow...🤔

I told them if they can find me ONE car in this entire dealership with mismatched DRLs I would accept their claim. Lol.

Plz keep me posted on ur solution! My dealer tried the modules also. It is the housing unit that needs to be replaced, please tell me who your dealer is and if they are willing to replace your housing unit.

Hmm, looking at the TSB, it seems like a small burn on the fiber optic tube. Use a razor to cut/scrape it off and your good as new... just my theory.

The entire headlight must be replaced, it’s not the modules.

See post #11 from the thread about my car.

Headlights were replaced on both sides. Dealer first attempted to swap out the modules but nothing changed. They brought up the case directly to BMWNA and they approved it.

The car was still under the factory warranty. Probably made a difference.

I got mine done through Sewell BMW in Midland but I highly doubt you'd want to come out here lol. Moved out here for work and I only went there because it's literally the only dealership within a 3 hour drive. They know this. Also keep in mind they tried to deny me at first lol. Pretty wild.

I hope you guys get your headlights fixed.

Also if you have your DRLs coded to 100% brightness I would remove that asap.
