interior is gorgeous!!!
..just noticed that the passenger door has a traditional grab handle. The driver has a hand hold in the arm rest. ....more elbow room Last edited by inTgr8r; 12-16-2008 at 06:19 PM.. |

E89 is far and away the best "Bangled" BMW ever.
Probably my favorite new car styling wise in a long time. I hope the dynamics and pricetag are there. The brochure is encouraging in terms of the toys from the m3 you can toss on it.

Z3 - classy, simple and functional
old Z4 - ugly throughout, IMO new Z4 - land shark at the front, graceful everywhere else, gorgeous inside.

I agree - a very smooth and beautiful looking car. Certainly not as angular as the old Z4. I think the styling is just right - its certainly still very much unmistakably a Z4, but a more rounded and evolved version. I LOVE IT.

Though I am totally in love with this new Z4 I can't really say the current one is ugly. I think they are both well designed cars in their own right and wouldn't be unhappy with either car, but would definitly prefer the new one!

this comparrison isnt fair , old Z4 has awful seats, standar steering wheel and ugly automatic gear box...jeez ! there are better looking interiors from the old Z4 than that.

ditto.. and the current Z4 coupe is a beast of a little car.. definitely one of the most unique BMWs available .. hope they make one for the new e89 Z4. In roadster form though the new Z4 roadster wins out

Same layout as the E90, no grab on the drivers door. I like that in my E90. I am really getting excited about the possibility of having the best of my E90 and Z4M in one car and going from two cars to one. I'll cut my insurance in half, no more moving cars around, not driving the E90 and having the sun come out and wishing I was driving the Z.....can't wait til I can order one!

I think the E89 Z4 would win that one hands down! It's drop dead sexy even with the roof up. Hard top convertible beats ragtop in terms of looks almost everytime.

Thanks for putting together the comparo, Jason!
I don't think anyone would argue the Z4genII is going to be the most beatiful iteration of the Z's. However, I would point out that the photos of the Z3 and Z4 are less than flattering when compared to a professional photoshop of a concept car. I did a quick search and have to admit it was difficult to find nice Zroadys but here is a picture of a car I would buy today if it were being sold with updated chassis + interior.... JMO

Here is a nice example of the Z4. I know it is an M, but that is just a slightly different bumper. Just trying to illustrate how a picture can make or break a car.
