Found this after getting an avalanche of codes one morning. Might start making the cat sleep in the garage.

UPDATE: here's some photos of her torn down. There's still some parts on order from Germany, looking at early March to get her back.

i always keep a couple of mouse traps in the garage. we keep our dog food stored on a wire rack, but the smell has to attract them to some degree. i've only caught one little mouse in about nine months.

I recall that one of the US manufacturers used wires with some sort of recycled insulation. A coworker said squirrels would crawl up and chew wires.

As a kid more would hear stories of cats crawling on top of warm engines. Fine until they would get caught under the hood when the car was started. (Likely a legend)

I went to Seattle the other day for Monday night Football, cleanest city I've ever been to. Then I went to New Orleans the same week for the 9'er game and the rats were buying me beers.

Poisoned rats will do anything for water. Don't put poison down in your garage.

Honda/Toyota has some wires with a soy based wiring loom and it was a recall for them I think.

Wow, now I feel pretty thankful for all the stray cats that are on my street. We probably have about a dozen on our street and the cat fights at night can get pretty intense

So Geico is gonna fix me E93. At the dealership for about $13k
Gotta love that low deductible comprehensive.
My service advisor is letting me piggyback the labor charges and swap out some needed parts too!
So all new oem parts, plus some new Michelin shoes.
Then she goes to IS for a rod bearing job and test pipes.
It's gonna be a fun 2020.

Yes. You read that right. Granted most is labor but all the little oem clips, hoses, and the main wiring harness he feasted on add up quick.
I didn't think it could get that extreme but once it requires dealer service, it went through the roof.

My cat sleeps on the hood of my car, that’s located in the garage. I have to wash it more often due to paw prints, and hair.

But. It keeps the rodents away I would think

Many automotive companies are following environmental trends and using renewable materials in automotive parts. For example, soybeans are used as coatings for automotive wires. Rats are attracted by edible soy wire insulation and damage to car wires is steadily increasing. Damage to the engine wiring is not only costly but also very dangerous.

Comprehensive covered the damage. I'm paying for the rubber and the RB job myself.

Pretty sure they hold that in Monroe, which is a good 45 mins northeast of Seattle. Tbh, the summer up here is phenomenal. Suns out till 9pm, stays around 70-80 degrees. You could see if there's a show at Marymoor park while you're here. Fun little outdoor venue. Rent a car and take a ferry to the orcas? The ride over is beautiful and there are some fun little roads through some amazing scenery. Or go up Mt Ranier?

$13k so far (approved by Geico) and they found some additional hoses/wires that needed replacement.
Photos added to the original post.
