Opinions on reliability- trading in my 2013 X5 50I for a 2016 X5 50I?
Hey Fellas,
I do appreciate all the advice lately. I am checking with the forum before I pull the trigger. I am going to check out a 2016 X5 50I with a M sport package 36K miles tomorrow. I have a 2013 X5 50I currently. I just got my car back in the summer for the oil consumption issues. They did about $15K work on it including labor. I fee like it is constantly at the dealer with issue. I posted before I can't find another Suv that looks as good and has the power of the X5. I am about to trade in my 2013 for this 2016, but am worried 2016 will have engine issues again. Are the 2016 X5 50I better than E70 reliability? I just want a chance to finally own my dream car without constantly being let down. This 2016 has the M package that I always wanted and I was going to add a Dinan stage 2 into it. I will start looking at other SUVs if people here say the 2016s are not dependable either. I appreciate any feed back. |

When it comes to adding power, Dinan does not have a product for this motor due to the electronic wastegate. Most owners who have tuned the N63TU recently have used BM3. Their Stage 1 tune will give you more power and at 1/2 the price of Dinan, installs in your garage in 3 minutes with a laptop & cable, and is easily removed or tweaked at a later date as your needs/mods change.

97k miles on my 2014. I change the oil every five thousand and don't need to add any in between changes. No major issues other than pcv hoses.
