She's here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally lifted the M3 this afternoon and so far things are great. The bloody dealers charge for the 1200mile service over here which is a bit of a bummer.
Will post pictures later when weather improves, at the minute it's pouring down. |

I know, I need to get photos soon but it's pissed down all day and the thing is pigging at the moment..........be patient guys.
First impressions compared to the test drives I have had in two different M3s, one a manual and the other an M-DCT. Both of the test drives were with 19" alloys compared to my with the stock 18". The stock alloys make a world of difference to the ride quality of an already acceptable car, this thing rides not only better than my old S5 but it's better than the brother's X6. It is surprisingly quiet when just cruising and the gearbox (M-DCT) is a dream to use, coming form DSG and manual cars this thing seems to know exactly the right gear on every occasion, it's be far the best automatic system I have ever tried. Currently D2 is the best choice for run-in, you can give it almost all of the throttle and it still changes up at 5~5.5K revs. I picked the Logic-7 setup mainly because I couldn't justify the expense of the Pro-system and on a whole I am happy but it not as good as the S5's B&O setup, that system had a much better separation. The FR interior is a dream and everyone so far loves it, apart from the wife who is a plain Jane when it comes to interior colours, it has to be black and nothing else according to her. In the dull overcast weather we have today the SSII is very blue, and it compliments the gun-metal alloys a treat. So far after 63 miles I am as happy as a pig in shit. |

Not according to my dealer, if anyone in the UK can tell me different I am all ears because I don't fancy paying out any more than I already have.

It wasn't free on mine either - In fact I never heard this could be free at all anywhere - My car was bought in belgium but I had it serviced in Austria.

Congrats Footie!
I'm really happy for you, though still being kinda sad about your transmission choice. On the other hand the 18s really make up for that. Best regards, south

Congratulations. I'm surprised to find that DCT always finds the right gear. SMG was not like this, so that's another reason DCT > SMG. Enjoy.

It's not free in every country. It's not free in the Netherlands for example. I know the E46 M3 first service was free in the UK, but not in the Netherlands too. The reason I ask is because I had my 1,200 mile service for my Dutch M3 done in the UK, and the dealer asked me if it was free in Holland "because it is in the UK". He may have been confused though. |

I concur!
I am going to start a thread in the main forum titled "Never make a thread referencing your new car when you don't have PICS!". I think these type posts should be removed on SIGHT!!!

He said he will post up pics when his weather lightens up a bit. Patience. He is excited, AS HE SHOULD BE, about his new car.
We all have been, or will be there. How about a little understanding? Don't be such a hard-ass on the interwebs. Besides, we all know Footie is good for it. Btw, footie. Congrats on the car mate!
