Xpipe or Test pipes

With the recent purchase of my e90 M3 I have been looking to make her louder.. the car came with a Megan racing section 3 exhaust and every thing else is pretty much stock as far as exhaust mods . Debating between the test pipes or xpipe and leaning towards the test pipes but lmk what you think ..

Test pipes will make a little less power compared to an x-pipe and are more difficult to install. Test pipes will have a cleaner exhaust smell since the secondary cats are still present. Test pipes will also be quieter vs a catless x-pipe. I would go full x-pipe and leave you stock one in 1 piece.

Effectively the same thing, though it depends on which X-Pipe you are considering (secondary cats, resonators, etc.).
Test pipes are the cheaper way of doing things, X-pipe is the easier way (install/swap).

With your setup, I'd at least have 1 set of resonators in the system. I went with test pipes personally

I had test pipes on my previous M3, and I'm about to install them on my current one. They're cheap (especially if you buy them second-hand) and deleting the primary cats frees up the majority of the power.

Test pipes + the Megan exhaust sounds really good.

They're all basically the same so go for the cheapest. Rogue Engineering sells them right now for $249 brand new!
