Eco Pro mode setup as default

I've set my F15 to Eco Pro mode , drove for some time. Then parked and turned the car off. Came back after awhile, turned car On and see that the car is in Comfort mode. Is there an option to set the Eco Pro mode as default mode?

It has always seemed strange that it is not possible to set the default mode in idrive.

Memorizing last driving mode, or in fact make ecopro or sport default is possible and very easy via coding. There are few ways how one can code, either via esys on pc ( one needs to have cable( ethernet cable $) , windoz and esys software ( free), or one of many available obd adapters with coding software. ($$ for adapter and $$ for app) Carly, or BimmerCode are the most trusted ones. One who searched probably saw few threads dedicate to coding either via e-sys, or bimmercode on this page.

Check this thread. I described what needed to be coded using BimmerCode.

Everything coding is in the 2 coding threads of this forum and on the cheat sheets. One for ESYS and one for BimmerCode.

I did coding via E-sys. But for some reason Eco mode doesn't stay after the car restart. Any hint what can be done?

You probably didn't code it right man. Not trying to sound like a dick but it works if you do it right. Did mine via the app with no issues.

I'm using ESYS with ENET cable.
If you are referring to 2 links that artem123 provided, I followed it.
the cheat sheet that was in the thread has 3 codes related to the driving mode.
I set them up as per that spreadsheet.

For this change do yourself a favor and just use BimmerCode. It would take 5 min.

Ok, here is the deal, I will give you my bluetoooth adapter just use bimmercode app (heck you can use my phone and do it for free).

Why - I tried to code this and a few other times a few times with the cheatsheet and esys and was never successful. Then I coded it with the bimmercode app and it works beautifully. Maybe the cheat sheet isnt complete or accurate. Most of it is derived from F10 and F30 sheets from a few years ago.

I am in Vancouver too.

Maybe you just don't know how to use ESYS as expert mode and esys are the same. Problem with the bimmercode is that developer removes modules periodically with no warning so you could be SOL until an update becomes available. For example I believe the ICM module isn't available right now.

But ya I love the app. Been using it since I got the X to code all my stuff. But do know how to use esys as well. Just don't need to. Glad to hear the brakes can be done with the app as it is more convenient.

My original settings for drive modes were as in the photo attached below.
I've coded as per the cheat sheet as following :

BDC_BODY > 3023 > TCM_MSA_DEFAULT_OFF
Default value : "nicht aktiv"
Changed value: "aktiv"

BDC_BODY > 3023 > TCM_MSA_ECO_MODE
Default value : "FES2"
Changed value: "nicht aktiv"

BDC_BODY > 3023 > TCM_MSA_MEMORY
Default value : "aktiv"
Changed value: "aktiv"

But the car still defaults to COMFORT mode at each startup. And Auto Start/Stop function stopped working.
I want the car to memorize the last driving mode. And keep the Auto Start/Stop function active.
Could someone advise how to setup the proper values ?

Buddy, do yourself a favor (and is as well) use BimmerCode. If any, their support is responsive and will help you if it fails.
Esys does not have any support but our kind forum people.

The coding for memorizing the last drive mode has been attempted with BimmerCode , thanks to local forum fellow sahiljain22

Unfortunately this function still doesn't work.
Any idea which other code settings must be altered?

yober will be glad to report this has been fixed. Both ICM and BCD modules needed the coding. Interestingly the codes for saving driving mode did not exist in esys on his car in ICM when he searched but bimmercode was able to do it.

Maverik259 is right though, bimmercode is tricky. Just the latest update allows coding ICM again, but seems like expert mode is gone.

Does anyone know if I VO code, can I restore FDL settings from bimmercode?

Resore FDL from a saved profile you mean? I would be afraid it would try and reset the FDL codes that the VO changed but I'm not that experienced.
