Motor shaking after JB4 install + check engine + faults
Hey, I wanted to get some help on a s55 JB4 issue I am having with my f80 M3 2018. I was trying to attach the Rev 3 connect kit by taping into a red wire from the main harness, but when I tapped a red wire, it gave the unit no power. I then tested the wire and it did not light up as a positive wire, nothing happened. I found another red wire within the same main harness, and it worked. After connecting to the bluetooth unit, I received a message saying kit not owned. This issue has since been cleared up by Art. W. and now I can try again to connect to the Rev 3 unit (will try again to update firmware and switch map). The issue is that when I connected the JB4 to the car via stage 1 (2 t-map connections), the car started to shake, gave me a check engine light and a number of faults pictured below (car is brand new). I disconnected right away and will try again, but was wondering if this was because the unit was on a map not designated for my car's stock setup, and also why that red wire wasn't giving power, as I thought any red wire would work from the main harness. Thank you for your help.

If you have an electrical fault something is loose or was plugged in wrong. You'd need to post photos of the installation, JB4 board, etc, for advice. Does the system have firmware and the right firmware for an S55?

Understood. I have installed a JB4 into my m4 as well as my m3 before, and I always do the two t-map sensors, so stage 1 install. Everything was plugged in correctly to those sensors, so I am thinking it may be with the harness or board, which I will upload pics of. Is it normal to have one of those red wires in the harness to be dead and not be able to give power to the rev 3 kit? I was not able to update firmware since I couldn't connect to the rev 3, but will try again today to update firmware and report back.
