Video Review: Is the M4 GTS worth twice the price of the M4 (by Doug DeMuro)?

Like he said is for the enthusiasts who wants that track ready drivers car from BMW. Me personally I couldn't pay almost twice the price for that. I would rather get a M4CP, get a tune and throw a meth tank in the trunk but that's just me.

I doubt most of us mere mortals are able to wring all the power out of the standard M3/4 on the majority of circuits. Claiming a need for a more powerful or capable car is silly for 99.9% of us no matter your feelings about the car itself.
I'd rather push a lesser car closer to its edge and develop better skills on track than ham fist an amazing car around at a slower pace getting beat by a better driver in a "slower" car. .02 |

I see the M4 GTS as a cool collectors car. If your sole intent is to use this as a track machine there are cars that cost less that have/can put up better times than this car. Every review I've watched said this is not your ideal daily driver since it is so low and super stiff. You are also missing some comfort features that people look for in a daily.
I get why this car appeals to more people though. I am a die hard BMW fan and would love to own one if money wasn't an issue but I would have a long list of cars that i would drop money on before i would on a 140K M4 though.

Would be nice if they made an M2 hardcore GTS version as I personally prefer a smaller car. I know the M2 clubsport is on its way but I get the feeling it will be a watered down version of what they could really do with it. But...the M4 GTS is one damn nice machine.

Your right the GTS is extremely nice, build quality looks extremely high. And really would there be another car you'd rather cruise at 180+ mph in? |

The ///M4 GTS seems like a real gem of a car. It's an old school BMW in every sense of the word, and then some. From the chassis tuning and steering to its overall simplicity, it's as vintage BMW as it gets.
I don't understand the criticism for it. It's just dumb shyt like "ooh it's got a ridiculous wing and you have to fill water in it." People don't understand that these things are functional and not a gimmick, the ///M4 GTS is a true track car in every sense of the phase. It's just popular to trash on BMW now; when Porsche does the same thing with its track-focused versions of the 911 and Cayman nobody bats an eye. |

Don't get me wrong, I love the car and it's super cool that BMW built it...it's just to big for me. I drive a 128i and a Z4M Coupe...both very small cars. But to those who like a bigger car, good on them!! Cheers!! |

I feel like DeMuro would be better suited reviewing full size crossovers at Edmunds or Kelly Blue book or something.
What credibility does he have to review a performance car? |

Didn't like the review.... pull twice on the hood opener (not a GTS only feature) and gold versus orange accents. Would like to look up the shop he mentioned!
GTS is a cool car for what it is. Some will be driven, some will not. For those that can afford it enjoy!

I believe I am now dumber after listening to that review. Not to mention if I spend 140K on a car there is NO WAY i will pull the hood latch X2... Thats for the laymen driving the common M3/M4

But even if I won the lottery I would not pay twice the price of an M4 for the M4 GTS. |
