Integrated Universal Remote problems?
Hey guys,
Been trying to program the signal from my garage remote & gate onto the homelink IUR on the m3 but still doesnt work. I visited www.homelink.com, followed those directions and still doesnt work. I have a Liftmaster by Chamberlain garage door opener and have tried the learn button on the unit, but doesnt work Have you guys been having similar problems or has it been working fine with others? Thanks in advance

works fine with mine. I followed the manual and it worked the first time. I'll see what brand I have when I get home.

you might have a opener that changes code everytime so you need to do that last step and push the button on the actual opener, i think it's call the "LEARN" button.

You have to reset the homelink transmitter and then train the unit to your remote. Then you have to go to the motor unit for the garage door and push the learn button. Then go back to the car and press the button a couple of times and it should link up.

By resetting the homelink transmitter, meaning pushing and holding the 1 and 3 buttons to reset. What do you mean by training, as in holding the garage remote key and setting 1 button on the homelink transmitter? When you say go back to the car and press the button a couple of times, does that mean the homelink transmitter button or the garage remote button. Thanks !

look on page 35. You will see where the "learn" button is located on your garage door opener. |

The programming process is 2 steps, bro.
Step 1 is programming of the homelink to learn the transmission of the remote. This step does not require the "learn" with the box. You are correct that this step involves holding the button on both remote and desired homelink button (setting 1)... until the homelink light (on setting 1) flashes indicating that it has learned the transmission. Step 2 is programming the garage box to "learn" the new "coded" transmission from the homelink (setting 1). This step now involves the "learn" button and does not involve the steps above and no longer requires the button on the remote. |

it you run into any more problems just flip to the next page on your manual and it should discuss this second step.
