DCT Grinding Under Hard Acceleration

Fellow M-thusiasts,

I have noticed for a short while that under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear of my DCT F80 I hear a grinding sound, specifically at higher revs. Has anyone else noticed this?

No! Mine shifts smooth as the day I got it and I have 19,000 miles exactly on the clock.

Is it a grinding noise or more of a rattle? I had an issue where I had a noticeable vibration/rattle sound in 1st and 2nd gears coming from what felt like the transmission/driveshaft area. Turned out to be the e-brake lines tube rubbing against the drive shaft under hard acceleration. See if this helps, I've attached the SIB as well in the post.

Thanks, I think this could be the issue. It is muffled but it does sound like a bit of a rattle. I will probably end up taking it into the dealer some time soon.

Good luck. If it turns out to be the same issue they will simply need to bend the tubes to keep them further away from the driveshaft.
