So typically how long is car "in production"?
I noticed on Friday last week that my car was officially in production, which is earlier than anticipated, but curious now long it typically stays in production? Seems like I read somewhere that it is about 10 days. Can anyone confirm that? Still hoping for late March delivery.

I toured the Munich plant they said a car is completed in 3 days, I believe. One of the longest parts of the process is the part where the put all the painted cars in a temperature controlled oven room for the paint to clear.

Mine went into Production 1/28 and completed on 2/6....9 days. Thats based off calling BMW with the production number, website still says in production, phone line says in transport to port currently, and CA emailed me yesterday saying the same...that's its on a truck to port. ahead of schedule on all accounts...I think they are cranking through them right now trying to get caught up. No data but seems the carbon fiber delay is lessening as well based on recent posts I've seen here.

Thanks for the info guys. Will email CA and see what info he has. I did not order CF roof so that may have helped speed things up. On a side note, went to Portland Auto Show and finally got to see YMB and AY next to each other and as much as I liked AY glad I stuck with YMB.

I'm week 10... still 111 status. Gonna be interesting to watch some of these. Some people getting an early start, others being pushed back. Who knows!?

I wasn't given a production week or anything. I placed my order and deposit literally a week before the car went into production. I believe my dealer used an existing allocation that was already scheduled for production and just changed the options to exactly what I wanted, but rejected my individual paint request lol.
