iDrive won't turn off
This is the 3rd time happening ... after stopping the engine iDrive won't turn off. I have to start and stop the engine again so that iDirve will turn off.
I checked fault codes with BMWhat and it shows fault code BMW A47E for Central Info display. Anybody had this issue before ? The first time it happened, dealer reprogrammed the car. It happened twice this weekend. |

Did the error come back?
I also had A47E once last week, but iDrive then didn't turn on and the screen didn't come up. Turning the car off and on again didn't help but one day later everything was fine again. |

Yes. At least once or twice a day, iDrive won't turn off. Recently I ran into a different issue - all sort of errors were showing up. It turned out to be loose positive cable at the battery. After tightening the nut at the battery, clearing all the codes, I never saw any codes coming up and no iDrive issues either. I suggest you check the battery/alternator and battery cables. Go to O'Reilly or any auto parts store offering free electronics check. In a couple of minutes they will tell you if there is anything wrong.

OK, so some kind of hickup .
I have a changed to a new battery in March and changed the coils in July (with the battery disconnected). So it's indeed a good idea to look if the contacts are tight. |
