A/C problem (driver vs passenger vents)
So, its been a year since I purchased a 2010 135i Covert.
Just noticed this weekend that part of the A/C does not work. The mid vent and the passenger vent work and they get cold. The driver side, the vent by the feet and the mid-vent of the left do not get cold. I barely drive the car. In a year, it has been run like 4,600 miles. Has anyone experienced this? Does the driver side only need Freon or should I take it to the dealer? Will a work like this be under the CPO? Didn't know BMW had 2 (?) A/Cs (passenger vs driver) Thanks!

Your car is equipped with a DUAL ZONE climate controls. The driver can have one temp while the passenger has another. IF you drive alone, simply depress the ALL button to have the SAME TEMP coming out of ALL the vents!

Then you need to take your car into a dealer. One of the blend doors is broken. Dackel

When i had my E90 it happened to me. Resulted that there was a leak in the evaporator. They had to replace the evaporator and recharge the system. Pretty common on these cars. I wonder why they do not provide extended warranty on these parts.

Nope, you have to pay the Eval/Recharge and yes if there is something wrong with other things (than only a simple recharge), it would be cover by CPO.
What I am thinking is paying a BWM shop (not dealer) $160 to the recharge and evaluate. And if there something wrong, I will take it to the dealer with paper work from the shop and will call BMW corporate for a refund of the initial payment. More time, but thinking saving myself 50% of cost.
