I can strongly suggest NOT using Rushcutters Bay or Chatswood. The service was terrible and the sales people pushy and arrogant. I think their view is snazzy show room will get them the sale.
I ended up dealing with a very professional and helpful salesman from Bruce Lyntons BMW on the Gold Coast. He did a very competitive deal which we negotiated over the phone. My car will be registered in NSW and while preped in Qld, trucked and delivered to me via a Sydney dealer. My suggestion look and drive locally and if you are not happy with the service you get look elsewhere. |

I recommend against using Col Crawford with the strongest possible warning.
However, if you're not scared of a good bit of travel, give Arthur a call at Kloster BMW (Newcastle). They were absolutely fantastic with my car and couldn't have been happier. Got 3 follow-up calls the next week from the Dealer Principal to answer any questions and ensure the car was going well and to ensure Kloster was a good choice for me. Can't fault them, they really know what service is! Plus they offer a free first checkup in your first couple of thousand k's. |

Actually that's why I started the thread - I started talking to them originally about an order and they were hopeless. Re-enforced my belief that you should always go with someone recommended, saves you a lot of wasted time...

It's looking bad for all of the Sydney dealers based on this feedback (except Sylvania). I think the only other dealers in Sydney are Trivett and Canterbury that we need feedback on.

On the topic of service at BMW Dealerships in Sydney, let me relay my experience at BMW Sydney yesterday. I took my car in for an oil change, and got there just after 7:30am. The female service adviser was friendly, and advised that the techs only started at 8am, so if I wanted to wait for the car no work would commence for 30 minutes. This was fine, and I appreciated the heads up. Here's where it gets good... I made my way to the waiting lounge and there were two other groups waiting, a couple and a lady on her own. Anyway it's just before 8am and I'm killing for a coffee. I see the girl in charge of the coffee machine start making coffees and think all good. What she does next flaws me. Instead of coming over to the service waiting lounge to offer customers a coffee, she visits all the sales staff and service staff on the driveway takes their coffee orders and makes them all a coffee. This to me highlights where customer service stands at BMW Sydney. Despite the convenience of the location, I assure you I would not recommend them to anyone and nor will I buy there again!
I should also add that they attempted to charge me more than what I was quoted - but was having none of that! Last edited by nvanorten; 12-30-2009 at 06:28 PM.. |

I've bought 3 cars from trivett over the last 4 years, 2 of them within the last six months, i guess it depends who you deal with, i never had any issues and when got the wife the 1er, they went out of their way to make it happen.
