Seven to nine hours should be the ideal amount of time. But more importantly, the quality of sleep is what should be addressed. If anyone is tired during the day after a night of sleep, a sleep study should be considered. On of my areas of expertise is in treating people with sleep related breathing disorders (SRBD), who don't want to use a CPAP.

Eight hours or very close to it. Sometimes 7.5 and sometimes 8-9. The alarm is set for 7AM and I usually get to bed about 11:15-11:30ish. But I sleep in for an hour or so on weekends and sometimes I turn in around 10:30PM. So it averages out to 7.5-8 hrs/night.

I go to bed about 1am. Get up about 9am, sometimes earlier, so between 8:30 and 9:00am. I am awake for approximately a half hour before I get up. So around 7 to 7.5 hours of sleep a night.

When I used to work on ships and oil rigs, I could function for 24hrs on a 4 hour nap. But now that I work 12 hour shifts in an office, if I get less than 6 hours, I useless. My wife doesn't understand that my body was trained to wake up and be ready to turn to with any change of light, sound or movement (when a ship stops moving, it means 2 things; you are at the dock or something bad happened). Nothing like going home after a 12 hour shift and having to grocery shop, cook dinner and puts the kids to bed ( goto bed so Dad can goto bed). After all these years of various shift work, I have sleep apnea and a CPAP (which is fantastic)

6-7 hours works for me. I don't get more unless I'm sick. I'm still in my 20s, so fewer hours is preferable to more.

Typically, I spend almost 11 hours in the sack. Unfortunately, I'm lucky if I get 8 hours of sleep. Why? Old age, resulting in sore shoulders, sore hips, etc.
Tis what it is.

Another insomnia club member. I have an incredible amount of difficulty turning my brain off and just falling asleep. It takes me a while to initially fall asleep, I wake up a lot, and struggle to go back to sleep.
I'd say I average about 5 hours a night I guess?

With all of the vitamin pee that I take, sleeping one hour between trips to the driver's lounge would be great on most nights.....

4-9, with 7 as most common. I actually feel best with 7 unless I've been sleep deprived and stressed, in which case I can use a little more to make up rest.
I can't sleep all day like some people and I almost always get out of bed when I wake up - no snoozing, laying around or drifting off again unless I am wiped out or have a hangover.
