Expensive driving lesson for unlicensed young man, who takes off after crash

An unlicensed Toronto driver got a jarring lesson in horsepower recently when he destroyed two supercars in one crash after losing control behind the wheel.

According to CityNews, the unnamed young driver apparently took over his friend’s McLaren 720S – which sports a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 good for 710 horsepower and a zero-to-100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds – at Polson Pier in Toronto on April 21; luckily for all but him, the friend was in the passenger seat filming, along with another person outside the car.

The driver hit the gas and took off down the street, only to lose control and spin the $350,000-plus supercar right into a parked Audi R8 (more than $190,000), hitting the Audi hard in the front quarter, with body parts from both cars flying into the road. Fortunately, no one was injured.

According to the person in the passenger seat, the driver took off soon after the crash, but a Chinese passport was recovered in the McLaren, so it shouldn’t be long before he answers for his lack of judgement – and driving abilities.

indeed. Reminds me of a time when a teenager used a new e30 to peform donuts in a parking lot crowded with kids.
