The ground clearance of my E93 with stock sport suspension is pretty low so I need a low profile jack. I am look at this Michelin aluminum one from Canadian Tire for $299 but not sure whether the 3-3/4" minimum clearance requirement is workable for the car, expecally after I put a little piece of wood or rubber on the lifting surface for cushioning. Any suggestions?

I got that exact same jack from Canadian Tire on sale for $100 off earlier this year, if you can wait and just keep an eye on the weekly flyers, it would be worth it.

For around $300 you can seriously buy a SNAP-ON low profile jack. I've had to change tires on some of my friends cars at the track and their sideskirts are far much lower then on the E90/E92. I would buy it again in a heartbeat if i ever needed to purchase a jack and something you can rely on..

Just drive up on some 2x6s, use your current jack, and save some money.

I searched Snap-On's online Canadian catalog and I could only find these two that are less than 4" and they are not cheap. What model is yours and where did you buy it?

So I gave up and order this online from Nortern Tool & Equipment in the US. They still have to get back to me regarding shipping cost via ground. After paying for shipping and brokerage it should cost more or less the same or just slightly more than the $299 Michelin from Canadian Tire. I have to pay PST & GST either way. It only required 2.5" clearance! I believe the ship wt. of 123.0 lbs is a mistake. No jack can weight that much.

This one is great for all lowered cars. I would say its much more sturdy then the one at Canadian Tire had to offer.
Mine only has a 3.5 inch clearance yet it can do most of the things that is needed to do... My Snap-on jack also weighs a ton, not sure about 100lbs but at least 70-80..

i bought like a 50 dollar jack from canadian tire

it was motormaster 2ton

worked great no clearance problem on my e92

I am back to square one.

Northern Tool & Equipment emailed me to let me know that this item will have to be shipped directly from the manufacturer, and I have to send a freight forwarding company to pick it up. Ship weight is 123 lb so this thing is a monster. I figured that with truck freight and brokerage fees I can easily spend well over a hundred dollars extra on it, so I cancelled the order.

Now I am back to the Canadian Tire ones again!

Any other suggestions?

Craftsman makes an almost identical jack to the Michelin which a number of E90Post members in the US have purchased, I never went to Sears to see if they sell it here though, maybe it's worth taking a look?

Sears.ca does not have it listed.

I think I know which one you are talking about. When I compare photos I think it looks exactly the same as the Michelin one at Canadaian Tire. May be it is the same product made under the Craftsman brand. Besides, I don't think Michelin actually makes jacks.

I tried to get a hydraulic jack at Sears here in Canada last year....apparently they dont carry/sell them anymore.

I've actually been shopping around myself lately. I like the one from Canadian Tire but its pricey....I'd consider getting it if it goes on sale.

But in the mean time I found a low profile jack at Walmart yesterday that is on sale for $120. its got a big pad like the Michelin one from Canadian Tire. It says it will go as low as 3.15 inches, 1.5 ton, 1 year warranty....but I cant remember the make.

Also I think I remember seeing one similar to the one from Canadian tire at Sam's Club (like Costco). I'm gonna try to take a look. there when i get some time.

I'm probably gonna pick up the one from Walmart and hold on to it till its time to put the winters on in case the one from Canadian tire goes on sale or I find and less expensive one.

I don't think they open on Thanksgiving Day.

Anyways, I went and bought it from Canadian Tire today. They said if it is on sale next week I can bring in the bill and they will refund the difference.
