Steel Wheels?
Is anybody using or planning to use steel wheels for winter on their 335i? With previous cars, I have always used plain black steel wheels with winter tires. I am having trouble finding 17 or 18 inch black steel wheels to use with winter tires on my 335i.

Tirerack has some pretty inexpesive rims that will look nice. Steel rims will be too ugly.

I don't think there exist any steelies that fit a 335i.

You might want to see if the 17 steelies for the E46 will fit on the 335... those doesn't look too bad, but it will be expensive from the dealer...

Why steelies? They're ugly. You can get some pretty good looking alloy wheels for about $150 each from stores like Tirerack.

I have been told that steel rims won't fit the 3 series due to the size of the braking system. But I have to agree with many others on this post. TireRack has all kinds of options that I find to be reasonably priced. I actually opted out with this Bimmer this time around and just bought a beater car for this coming winter. Think I leave my baby in the garage... salt-free. Plus... with two 16-year-old sons just starting to drive. Hell no! This Bimmer is for Dad ONLY. At least for now.

I know... I know. My sons are already beggin' to sneak behind the wheel. First one to give her any curb rash or a door ding... and we'll just have to see if I let 'em do it again. Gulp!!!
