how do you make time go faster?
gawd, i gotta wait a couple more months for "my precious". bmw dealership told me production for the 08's are in september, so if i'm lucky I'll get my car in october. it's in stage 12 right now (getting ready to be assembled) or something. i guess that's a good sign. . . . . ?
my dealer told me to forget about the car, time will go faster that way. but it's hard not to think about driving a bmw when you're taking the bus everyday! according to einstein's general relativity, if I go the speed of light, time will go by normally for me but everyone around me's time will go much much faster. this is pretty much what i need right now. anybody got an M3 I could drive at light speed? all this time sitting around waiting "the precious" has it's positives. i get to come to the boards, see all the tricks, tips, and experiences bmw owners have with their cars. i gotta say this website is my freakin bible. John 3:27 All that's left is to get a good deal from the dealer on a package for the following stuff: OEM alarm + insall ($699), window tinting($399), road hazard protection($579), PPF clear bra + install ($??), winter tires($??) + storage at the dealership($75/yr), ipod connector cable($70). . . . . money sure adds up. even though i have a gazillion questions for bmw owners, i will do my best to shut my mouth/fingers and use my eyes/ears and button for a while. |

pcoles78, I know exactly what you're going through man. I had to wait 12 weeks for mine to arrive.
My suggestion to you is to try to focus on other things. When I was waiting for my car I tried to focus more on other things. I kept myself occupied at work, read a lot, spent more time with my girlfriend (although admittedly I think I drove her partially insane because all I could talk about was the car). Hang in there! It'll be well worth the wait!

thanks, sometimes i dont even realize it, but it seems like every conversation i have with people eventually turns to the car. it makes ME sick. haha. i'm doing lots of overtime at work which keeps me busy, and all that overtime will also pays for all these wonderful options and ad ons. |

Before I got my car, or even long before I ordered my car, I spent time doing research on the internet and read up on different forums to get to know more about the car, and to get up to speed on issues. By the time I got my car I already knew way more about it than the sales person, and have already made up a whole list of mod parts (actually have already ordered and received some of them). Also that I already knew what to expect and what to watch out for, and decided on which forum (this one!) to join to get valueable advice. This certainly had made time gone by a lot faster.
P.S. Did I tell you I completed Advanced II and Perfection of BMW Driver Trainig during the waiting time?

Kill time by figuring out what mods to get done on your car...you could also go to the gym to workout your "car detailing" muscles so you are ready to apply ZAINO when your car arrives.

Go to the parts department and buy an owner's manual, even if it is for last years car.
Read it from cover to cover. Then read it again and note all the things you didn't learn during the first reading. Then have your girl friend read it and see who can discover a new feature first?!? By the time your new car arrives you are going to be completely versed on the car except of any new 08 items. Haasman |

i hear you're about to burn down the dealership waiting for your order. i sympathize with you. i've just about lost my mind waiting for this b*tch. i ordered july 31, i emailed the dealership last week and I'll let you know what they say. Supposedly it's a September production with an October delivery. We'll see.
nope. so i hope it doesn't snow too much. haha. |

I love and hate the rubix cube. I member I felt like I was on top of the world when I got one side of all the same colour, n then I found out later that that doesn't mean shyt. And if anything, I was farther away from being done than ever.
Can you believe people are doing this in under a minute, and with one friggin hand?
