Bluetooth gone?

I have an 06 325i with SA663 Professional audio with Bluetooth but no USB.

Yesterday, my phone wouldn't connect to the car unless I disabled bluetooth on the phone and re-enabled it, but even once that was done, it would disconnect after 4-5 minutes and not reconnect. So... I deleted the car from my phone and went to re-pair it, only to find the "TEL" option on the HU has " - - " instead of the phone image...

Has my bluetooth module in the boot crapped out?

Mine did this a month or so ago off and on. Every time I would delete my phone, turn off BT, turn it back on, and re-pair. So far it's worked w/o incident for the last month. Keeping my fingers crossed lol it's almost like the BT module had a hiccup and is working fine now. Odd

All I can tell ya is to keep disconnecting and resetting the BT in hopes it will sort of fix itself lol

Have you tried resetting your phone? Remove battery for a couple of minutes then try again. Most of the times is the phone and not our cars. Cheers!

Well, I pulled the mulf out today, hoping it was just going to be a dodgy connection. I have the basic mulf in the tin box with the clip-on lid, not the fancy cast alloy version. I inspected the inards and could see no obvious burns or dry joints, so I reassembled it and put it back in the car.

Now the telephone icon appears all the time and I can access the bluetooth functions without issue. Except bluetooth isn't actually working, and to make natters worse, my voice command has reverted to the tongue of the mother country. While there's literally minutes of giggles listening to her German voice, I nicht specken ze deutch!.

So, I'm going to replace the mulf unit. I have professional Audio with BT, voice command, AUX socket, CD stacker and NO usb.

What mulf will work in my car?. The pics online of the mulf2 show a different coax connector for the BT antenna and a blue plug/socket instead of the white ones on my car. I've readconflicting reports about mulf replacement too, some say it's plug'n'play, some say it requires recoding, some say you cant use a 2nd hand mulf as they're coded to the car!

Someone please tell me they've dkne it and what's involved!, PLEASE

white connector is for TCU
blue connector is for MULF

most probably you have a TCU instead of a MULF. cross check your existing part number on RealOEM to confirm.

TCU/MULF replacements does require coding even if it's a brand new part since the modules stores the VIN inside which is used for the BT device ID.
