Radar detector mounting

I have a 2011 335d. The rear view mirror mount is really bulky. has anyone found a nice mount that will work on this car or made their own custom bracket? I want to get a new escort radar and hardwire it, although I don't want to use any type of suction cup mount.
I haven't found much on this forum any tips or pics appreciated. Thanks.

I have a rear view mirror mount from http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/Conn...rDetector.html. I got the slimmest one they have, 5/8 inch Ajustable Escort Z Mount, and it works ok. Makes it so the mirror does not move to exactly where i would like it, but its close enough. My last detector broke from falling so many times due to the suction cups. I also used this mount on my previous car (2005 Acura TL) and it also restricted the mirror movement almost exactly the same so i'm used to it. It restricts the left/right movement a bit because the mirror hits the mount before it can move completely to one side or the other.

Here are some pics on my 2011 328i. Not sure if the exact same mirror is in your car.

escort also has a visor mount, but i have no experience with it:

Thanks for the pics. Those are all I have found also. The mount you used may work if I can trim the back of the mirror housing with my dremel.
