Exclamation 100 octane question

i have a 07 bmw 335i e90 with intake, secondary cats/muffler/resonator delete, and a JB4.... I am wondering if I can run 100 octane and use map 7 on the JB4 to get more power without damaging anything in terms of the engine? ALso another question if i change it from map 2 to 7 do i have to let the car get used to the map or just swap and good to go... If it all works out im hoping to do the 1/8 on thursday with 100 octane on map 7... PS this is California 100 octane (true i think)

Running a higher octane gas is safer for the car; it reduces chances of knock.

I personally run a Procede so I am not too familiar with the JB maps and what they require but I am sure someone will chime in soon.

Log a few WOT pulls in 3rd/4th gear on map 7 with 100 in you tank, and check for any major timing drops (ign adv tab). My guess is you'll be fine, but it's better to know what's going on with the car before you hit the track IMO. GOOD LUCK!!!

i would not run map 7 on stock dps. Too much boost which will create more backpressure and heat and put strain on the turbos. FBO only.

Should be good to go.. Try to get a log, and probably need 1-2 WOT runs to get it adapt 100%

Shoot over a log. The JB4 has absolute boost targeting so there is virtually no adaptation period (1 WOT run should do it). Fill her up a and log a few runs so we can see how your car likes the setup.

Ahh. I didn't know that. I've always wondered why the JB3 & JB4 had so many maps. Now it makes sense.
