Actually, he prefers that you email him jtsherri@gmail.com as he doesn't read his PM's very often...

Link to review of his spacers:

How important are the spacers? Will the SWS8s sounds bad without them?

The spacers make fitting the SWS8's simple as you don't need to modify the enclosures. Without these you'd need to file down the plastic fins at the bottom of the enclosures. There's also a spacer to raise the carpet and grill to stop these hitting the speaker cone.

Thanks! Would you recommend getting these if I were getting a professional install done? Shouldn't they already have something comparable?

I'd speak to your installer and ask them how they usually install them. I would hope that a professional installer would have their own solution but it's worth asking and then deciding what you think's best.

If they use similar then fine, if they are going to butcher your enclosures then it might be worth providing them with a set

Out of interest, what are you planning to do with your system? I can see you've got Logic 7 already. Are you just planning on changing out your OE under seats for two SWS8's?

You might want to take advice on whether the SWS8 will be ok being powered by the Logic 7 amp? Not sure of the Logic 7's output.

Also I think it's 2 ohms so if it is make sure you get the 2 ohms SWS8 else it will reduce further what you are going to get out of it.

That's not what you said a few days ago. Installing just the SWS-8s will be a mistake. They will not do very well with roughly 30W per channel from the OEM amp. They need at least 100W, better 150W per channel.

Also, there are plenty of DIYs for installing the SWS-8s and it really is not that difficult. Unless you have two left hands, you should do this yourself. There's no tellin' what will happen when the best boys get their hands on it...
