iPhone 4 cradles

A German BMW dealer has listed the part numbers for the new iPhone 4 cradles said to come in December 2010:

Snap-In adaptor (bluetooth only, no 6NF): P/N 84 21 2 199 389
Snap-In adaptor music (6NF music only): P/N 84 21 2 199 390
Snap-In adaptor media (6NF music + video): P/N 84 21 2 199 392

All cradles are expected to be available from December 2010 on. Maybe somebody could check if this information is correct.

My UK BMW dealer said that the iPhone4 cradle wont be available until January 2011. Anyone managed to get hold of one of these yet?

can we use bluetooth to phone while the 6NF connection is on?
If so, the best option seems to be the one that also supports video.

And how is the 6NF connected? just via snap-in connector or is there any plug to insert in the USB connector?
I use an ipod connected to the 6NF USB and I'd like to have them both connected simultaneously...

I heard that the basic version would be out in Germany already, but I couldn't get hold of it. The other two versions aren't available yet.

6NF connects just via snap-in with an internal USB port. If I remember correctly the 6FL USB port has the priority so you'd have to disconnect the ipod to use the iPhone via USB.

Any more news regarding the cradles? Will the "video" adapter be able to stream the video onto your idrive screen?

This would totally be worth it, because it means the cradles would be more that just a glorified phone charger.

Here's the new iphone 4 cradle. The regular cradle is now available. The Music and Media ones are still to be released, but hopefully should be soon.

I purchase iphone4 cardle sanp in (P/N: 84 21 2 199 392) and install to my BMW E60 523i 2011, but only my phone charged and no operation.
Pls help me that I can play music & videos on the vehicle.

Is your 523i equipped with the Smartphone integration? If not then it will not play anything.

Well ... 392 is the media cradle. Not sure if that works with pre
March 2011 builds with 6NR.

Can I ask where u purchased the cradle ?

I have a E92 2007 it has no idrive and no usb port in the armrest.

I have the standard bluetooth.

Can I use one of these cradles for my iphone 4? or do I need something else? what else does the cradle do? just charge and play music?

Yes. But only the basic cradle. You would also need the generic base plate and a trim piece for your vehicle.

It would do 3 thing

1. Keep your phone secure
2. Charge/power the phone
3. Allow the cars shark fin external antenna to be used by the handset for improved reception.

No music playback capabilities would be available to you as you car does not have options 6FL and 6NF.

Hello all, I have a 2011 335d with nav and the factory installed SmartPhone integration. Will this allow me to use the external antenna and play off my Iphone 4 ?? Anybody tried this yet ?? Where can I buy this ??

I recently took delivery of a 318d E90 with 6FL (USB facility) and 644 (Bluetooth prep) but no 6NF/SATNAV etc.

I've worked out that I can control my iPhone 4 music through the radio/cd player using the BMW OEM Y cable, whilst controlling the phone functionality through the bluetooth connection.

If I buy a cradle can I still get the music functionality if I buy the basic + music cradle or am limited to just the basic cradle as I do not have the 6NF option?
