Stock Sound in 325?
I heard alot of horror stories about the base system in my 06 325I but it's sounds great to me how much better is the logic 7, and how to upgrade mine to be equal?

Logic7 adds 3 speakers, a more powerful amp, and EQ in the head unit. You would probably want to go aftermarket if you're looking for an upgrade. Though the 10-speaker base unit (in 2006-2009 cars) is very decent for stock audio. Not sure where you're hearing the horror stories from.
And if it sounds great to you, why upgrade?

I have both and LOGIC 7 is much nicer than the stock.
For whatever reason the stock sound muffled and doesn't get nearly as loud as the L7. For the absolute best sound though, aftermarket is your best bet. |

After I commented on how bad I thought the stereo was in the 2009 335, the sales guy mentioned that the HiFi system in the 2009 was worse than the 2008. I've since heard that the HiFi system in the 2010 is even worse than the 2009. In summary, I love the 2009 335d but am really annoyed by its stock stereo system. |

I had an '09 with the base system. Now I have a '10 with Logic7. I liked the system in the '09 better. The sound in the Logic7 is balanced in every direction and it doesn't seem like there is much definition to it (if that makes sense).
Just my opinion. |

+1 I'd rather stay ignorant about it until I can afford to buy a new car...

Better amp and speakers Most of the extra bad horror stories are about the 2010 model year in which they downgraded the non logic 7 stereo |

Stock sound to me sounds great when the car is stopped.... However, when driving at higher RPMs it's rather muffled from the runflat tire noise. It's not bad but it is noticable. I live with it and it's decent for the most part.

I think the bass is lacking but mid range and tweets are great

also have the 06 base system wasnt extremely disappointed, added an aftermarket powered subwoofer and im happy. nothing special just a small alpine with a built in 100w amp, enough to hear the rest of the frequency range that is missing. and since the factory amp is in the trunk all the speaker wires run back there, so all i needed to do was pull one of the rear deck speakers to see wire colors. then find them at the amp, never had to even enter the cabin other wise. fairly easy install.

I have had the 06 325 with the stock system and it was just fine. I have the logic 7 now and it is about perfect for what I like. I was especially happy with the sub in the floor under the drivers seat that sounds about as good as having a decent 12' in the trunk. For me, having an aftermarket wiring job and reduced space from a sub or two is retarded in a car of this caliber, perfectly fine for the type of car below in my signature. In my 94 325 I had a sub in the trunk, sounded great but then you have the annoying trunk/plate rattle, the Logic 7 takes care of that.

I adjusted the equalizer and then turned up the bass in the main signal control and it seems workable. Yea, a dedicated sub with more excursion would be better, but it's a decent enough compromise.

Not so weird. The Logic 7 sounds better than the Hi-Fi, and I've got the Hi-Fi -- for now.
