HEY YOU! I WTB your E90 Hood. Seriously...
Had a little issue with some uppity oak trees dropping their uteri (that would be acorns for those of you unfamiliar with oak tree anatomy) all over the hood of my car this fall, and now it looks like a friggin golf ball. And while aerodynamically superior to a perfectly smooth hood, I prefer the look, and especially the feel of an un-dimpled hood... the dimples chafe my nipples. And in case you were thinking you might be next on the list to vandalize my ride, the corpses of said oak trees happen to be sitting on my front lawn, and the chain saw still has gas in it... but I digress. I'd be willing to trade locally with someone looking to eek out an extra MPH or two (seriously, there's a reason golf balls are dimpled), or pay a reasonable price for an undamaged OEM E90 hood that will fit my '06. Haven't had the time to keep up with any changes to the 3 series over the years since the E90 came out, but I am sure the new 2010 hood is not going to fit. Pretty sure anything '06-'09 will fit, though. Monaco blue metallic would be a definite plus, since that way I wouldn't have to paint the stupid thing. Thanks! Joe |

lol golf balls are dimpled to increase lift. That is why golf balls travel far before the begin their decent. Google Magnus lift, it only applies to round objects I think. That really sucks that your hood got all f'd up though, post some pics.

medeiro: Excellent point! That sentence should have read:
"I'd be willing to trade locally with someone tired of all that ridiculous front-end grip at high speeds..." Jon335iFL: Messed up is in the eye of the beholder. Some would see this as an opportunity for their car to stand out that much more from the crowds. Not to mention the stated (and newly revised) aerodynamic "advantages" of dimpling! But yes, I am also willing to purchase a hood from someone else that wants nothing more than a reasonable sum of cash for theirs. EZ_TUR90 & SpmnE9zero: Thanks. Capo330i: Coming, but getting the light right to really make the dimpling "pop" has proved difficult. As soon as I get a good shot... or take the time to actually wash my car, I'll get a pic up. |

Any chance anyone knows a paintless dent removal guy in the Boston area, then? Someone who doesn't charge "per dent", preferably.
Thanks again, Joe |

Im pretty sure your not going to be able to get this repaired if there are that many dents. Order a nice carbon fiber hood instead. Post some pics so we can see wht you're talking about.
