WTT: 2005 Lotus Elise in Laser Blue for 6MT nonconvertible E46 M3
Located in Denver, CO
New member here. I purchased a Lotus Elise and realized it was a redundant purchase. I have a dedicated HPDE vehicle that I am fully committed to, and I previously had an s2000 which the Elise replaced. I was looking for something that I could take to the track while serving as a summer daily. WELP, the Elise is unfortunately not the greatest city runabout and the e46 is currently tickling my fancy. The car is a special requested Laser Blue color that was not originally available for the 2005 year. The previous owner owned the vehicle from new for 19 years and was recently picked up by me as he no longer drove the vehicle due to having two kids. The car was set up for autocross and under my brief but exciting ownership I continued the trend with several other mods to make it a reliable HPDE car Basic Info: 119k Miles Clean Title 4 different exhausts: 6" tubular, 7" tubular, Larini Sports with Decat, OE muffler Custom DIY intake Extra OE coolers from the factory that were removed in later years due to being too effective for street use Black Watch Racing Penske double adjustable coilovers Pagid RS14 brake pads + NIB Hawk HT Blue full set + ?? Street pads Moroso Baffled Oil pan 3 Sets of wheels, OEM 10 spoke on Continental ECS summer tires, Team Dynamics RS staggered 16/17" wheels with RE71RS, and NIB Konig Hypergram 15" wheels Stainless steel brake lines Inokinetic Fastarms to allow -3 degrees of camber up front The car is fantastic. Full stop. But I am 6'2 and am realizing it really isn't a safe vehicle for me to be taking to the track frequently when my head is level with the height of the rollbar. I also don't want to drop the money for Tillet seats and the rails as that is a near 4k purchase just to pass the broomstick test. And as mentioned before, I'd rather have something that has a bit more creature comforts to serve as a better street vehicle that can take on occasional track days instead of the opposite. Below is a photo gallery of when the PO was selling the vehicle: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...BYVEd1cjlEanBn Here is an album I have of pictures from when I was having fun with the car: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Zy7m9mSJ3qTT8EH28 The car is a blast on track. It screams and really makes you hone your driving skills. Shameless video link, but it lets you hear the car with the custom DIY intake + the 7" tubular exhaust: If anyone is interested, I can chat about some of the flaws the car has.
