Hi All,

I tried to search but there are too many different OEM oil available. I am planning to change the transmission oil, rear diff and transfer case oil on my X drive. I can see online BMW OEM has lifeguard and ATF3+ for ZF transmission, which Rear diff, i see it has Hypoid Axel G4 G3 and even G5. And there is no information of what oil to use for the transfer case. Has anyone been able to share me the information on part no. or which oil i should use if i intend to use BMW OEM oil.

Sad, I think many people either have not reach the service milestone or like me, don't have any detail. I tried to do more search and here is what I have. Hopefully this can help anyone who will need to change their oil soon as well

Transmission - ATF3+ part no. 83222289720 need 7 litre
Rear Diff - Hypoid Axel Fluid G4(LSD) part no. 83222447362 need 1.5 litre
Transfer Case - DTF1 part no. 83222409710 need 1 litre
Front Diff - Hypoid Axel Fluid G5 part no. 83222471487 need 1 litre

Of course if my information is not correct, feel free to correct me. By far this is the only information i can find for our G80

Or they don’t run BMW fluids…. I don’t.

How many miles you got that u need to change the fluids. Transmission fluid change is only if service in transmission performed according to bmw.

Where'd you get the 7 liters from? My service manual says min 9.35L

Would you mind share the service manual that mention that, cause from all the place i search, i see it uses 7 litre.... not sure if G80 is very different.
