Question 335d M-Sport brakes replacment

Hi all,

when the summer hits i wanna change the brakes(Disc and Rotors(Disc's)) on my car, i think only the front ones but maybe the rear's aswell,
now there are allot of options, i'm not tracking the car every day but i have a 335d witch i pretty danm quick so i wanna have some good brakes,

little count list of what i need
OEM:
Pads €260
Disc €362 times 2 so €724
total 1036
some other stuff about €50
and dont get me started about the labour of the (S)dealer

if i go aftermarket route with zimmerman (Wich i believe is the oe manufacturer of BMW qoute me if i'm wrong please!) and ebc yellow stuff
Zimmerman sport z €264 for 2
EBC yellow stuff €246 (I could go way cheaper with ATE pads that are around 120 ish)
Sensor €12
total of €522

Why is there such a big diffrance? and is DIY route the smarter way?

help a fellow BMW fan out

Some great advice from the folk in these threads:-

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2024715
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ghlight=brakes

I need new front discs and pads and have just ordered Brembo 09.C394.13 two piece front grooved/sotted discs with correct OEM BMW pads for the M Performance discs. Nearly went ATE blank discs with their Ceramic pads, these and other recommendations in above threads from more experienced guys than me hope that helps!

Stick to genuine BMW discs and pads if you want an easier and squeal free life.

Do you have the OEM BMW M sport brakes already ? (With the blue calipers)

In that case, all OEM parts are fine aside from the stock brake fluid and pads which are horrendous.

Just a set of good pads and brake fluid will do. EBC Yellow is ok for street use (you could go for Endless if you want even better performance but they're more expensive and squeel a little bit when hot), and then just use any uprated brake fluid. Castrol SRF brake fluid is really good and will never reach its limit.
