Hey guys, do you add any additives to your oil? Not really very educated on the subject and I'm not sure where to start so any direction would be great. I tried researching a little but I saw different ones advertising to do different things/for different types of cars.

I have a stock engine and tune, so not really doing anything power-wise and neither do I plan to anytime soon. I just want to take care of the car and use something to keep the engine the cleanest and running the longest.

Honestly, any direction as to what I should look at or what people use would be great, if people actually do use it and it helps. Any good brands I should look into?

Would this have to be added when I change oil or can I just add it whenever?

Junk, all of them. Just change the oil sooner, don't wait for 10k miles especially with a tune. And if you're running ethanol then even sooner.

No additives needed. BMW TPT is good oil.
As said, just change your oil every 3-5K miles depending on abuse level.

If you go really hard or track your car you could switch to using Motul 8100 Xcess Gen2 5W-40.

Worst part is getting to the oil filter on S58. Very inconveniently placed.

I see no need to replace oil filters more frequently than at the 10K intervals. I let the dealer do that through the 36K included maintenance. In between I do simple dump and fills.
