BC Button and HUD Questions

Ok, so the BC button on the end of the left stalk brings up info on the iDrive 8 screen in front of the driver (and covers the current track playing, for instance).

How do you make that info go away again?!

I have searched the handbook and can’t see how to—it just annoyingly stays there!

AND, is there a way (when in manual mode) to have the gear you’re in appear on the HUD?

It brings up trip data and then cycles around that data.
IIRC, you need to reselect the required display using the content selector on the steering wheel.

As for gear on HUD, no.
