I’m sure this has been asked already, but given the F95 is the last model to have a true twin turbo V8, non hybrid platform - what do folks think that will do to resale for the F95?
I have a 22 X5MC and it is the best car I’ve ever owned. We ended up purchasing ours at the time, as we snagged an 8% off MSRP deal on a perfect spec, and interest rates were around 1.5%. With that said, we don’t typically keep cars very long but there is nothing I’d replace this with just yet. This was also our first BMW so I’d like to get some thoughts on resale value and timing of selling vs hanging on to it for a while longer. |

If it's "the best car you've ever owned", then why even question selling?

Not trying to speak for OP but I’m in my LCI now only because I was bored (for lack of a better word) with my otherwise-fully-configured-running-well Acura.

In my head, I feel like the values will stay rather strong for quite some time, not only for the reasons I mentioned above, but also given the vehicle has very low miles I also don’t like where BMW is going with a lot of their new exteriors and minimalist interiors. To each their own of course. |

I’m similar to you. I swap frequently. Usually every 2 years. Both cars. So hard to predict the market. Over the last 3 years it’s been very favorable but I see it softening. Just sold my 22 M3 3 weeks ago for just $10k less than I paid but moved quickly because I keep in touch with several dealers and every single one had open allocations for builds which is the first time that’s happened since the M3 was released. Traded it in for a 24 X5M. Anyway since they are still producing these cars and availability seems to be improving I don’t think the used market will be as strong as last few years. Long term, 5+ years values should still be decent for the reasons you said but for those that like to flip a lot, 5 years is a lifetime.

All good points. I have quite a few mods on this vehicle too, and have it exactly the way I want it. Makes it even harder to part with.
Congrats on your X5M! How do you like it? I think it’s the perfect car for having fun, but also being somewhat practical for carting kids around |

Liking it a lot so far. What I found most interesting is it handles lighter then my wife’s 23 X3M. Can’t imagine why although I think it has some type of electric system that controls body roll. Also, lot more luxurious than my precious M3 and the X3M.

Served it’s purpose. Didn’t want a GX like my wife, but considered.

Values for these high end used cars/suv are going down fast
This is in Seattle. Obviously prices are regional My 2021 x5m comp msrp 123k. 32k miles I was looking to get into lci. So got a quote unseen for trade was about 78k end of July. Which I felt was low and now mid august best I got between 2 dealerships was 74k So in a month value dropped 4k. Wtf I gave up waiting on build slot and grabbed in coming 2024 x5m. Not way I wanted it but got a decent discount on it rather than msrp I know some will say sell privately but on that 74k I get minimum another 7000 tax savings |

Trade it in, take the tax credit and move on unless you want to be in the car business. |

Yeah really, personal check for 75 large in a private street sale, sure thing.
I've sold a bunch of cars, motorcycles, boats, ATVs, etc and can tell you that anyone who agrees to your asking price right away is going to throw you a major curve ball at some point. |
