Disable Towing Mode
Does anyone have a workaround/hack/coding to disable towing mode (which cripples many driving assistance functions) when a wire harness is connected.
I have a supplemental brake light that plugs into the receiver socket when the tow bar/ball is not installed. Its cable plugs into the trailer wire socket. I'd love to be able to use it, but not if I lose a bunch of driver assistance functions. The light only protrudes about an inch beyond the receiver socket, so it has absolutely no affect on the radar/sensors, etc.

When plugged in are you not able to uncheck Towing Mode in iDrive?

That's correct. When the light is plugged in, then the Towing Mode in iDrive is checked and grayed out and cannot be unchecked.
