High pitch noise when car is unlocked

Anyone's G80 makes a high pitch noise when the car is being unlocked and/or the door is being open and closed?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ does your M3 makes a high pitch when you go unlock it? I have a recording on my iPhone of the sound but MP4 isn't a supported file format and the sound seem to only be clear when playing from iPhone.

Mine does that. Sounds like an electric noise, like coil whine. It's usually followed by a few low pitch cracks, never thought much of it tbh. The way cars and bikes are now, every time you open them there's a ton of servos starting up, valves opening/closing, etc.

Thanks for the info. I figured as much but just wanted to be sure. This is my first M car and coming from the regular series I never experience this before. I also had electrical oddities with my old F10 5 series made me a bit paranoid.

Mine does it too. A high pitch whine and a few clicks after. Maybe it’s just coincidental, but I believe it has to do with the cars wireless system updating its vehicle status on the network. I’ve noticed that right after it does these noises, the mybmw up on my phone will update the cars locked/unlocked status, if the hood is open, windows, etc.

That's a good point. I've never thought of this.
