Touchscreen protector

Hi, I am new to the forum and I actually regret only now having seen this forum, as I am a happy owner of a BMW X1 F48 (purchased in 2016), and I am about to receive a BMW X1 U11 PHEV 30e (ordered in September).

Has anyone found out where to get screen protectors for the touchscreen on the U11? I got one for the F48, which was not even touch screen, but the protector kept the screen in good condition and allowed the inside of the car to be cleaned without worrying about scratching it. I guess in the U11, with everything being controlled from the touch screen, a protector would be a sensible add-on.

Apologies if this has been discussed before (I searched and did not find any info on the forum).

I haven’t found anything yet, but that would be a huge piece to cover the entire panel. I wouldn’t want a piece that only covered the touchscreen portion either. The display is pretty easy to clean and I haven’t scratched it during normal use, though someone wearing jewelry might accidentally scratch it?

I've owned cars with nav screens since 2004 (all touch screens but my F30) - this is my 7th - and never had a situation where I would have needed a screen protector. YMMV

That would work, but it is expensive (plus shipping from Japan).
I got the protector for the F48 from here: https://www.schutzfolien24.de/c/ALL/...tem-10,25zoll/
Unfortunately, U11 is not listed.
I agree that normal usage should not result in the screen getting scratched, but you never know, shit happens, and in this case, after it happens, there is no remedy, so I would rather be on the safe side.

While I like Studie as a company and have bought some of their products in the past for previous cars, a ton of their stuff is extremely overpriced. I’d personally wait to buy a screen protector, someone is bound to make one soon and it’ll be for sale on Amazon for half the price with free shipping.
